About Us

Hello, Parents!

Are you looking for childcare for your little one?
Our private day home has been in operation in the Altadore area for the last 16 years. Our home is bright, clean, and full of a variety of activities for your children to explore and learn: included are toys, crafts, games, music, dance, and more!

The little ones have fun running and playing in the large, fenced backyard for daily outdoor play (weather permitting). The children also enjoy a variety of healthy, home-cooked meals and snacks throughout the day. Our goal is to provide a safe, happy, and supportive environment for your child to grow.

Here at Little Hands Day Home Calgary, we take the responsibility of being entrusted with your children's care very seriously and are happy to answer any questions that you may have. We look forward to hearing from you!

Meet Our Staff

Hello, I'm Barbara!

I am the founder of Little Hands Day Home Calgary. As a mother of three children (all grown up now), I wanted to provide a childcare program where parents can feel confident that their children are receiving the best possible care. Communication is vital in ensuring that your family has exactly what you need. I have been working with children for over 30 years and I really appreciate how rewarding my work is. I look forward to working with your family!

Hi, I'm Elizabeth!

I have been working in childcare for the past 16 years. I studied music for many years, and I also enjoy learning a variety of different arts and crafts in my spare time. I bring these passions with me into my work environment. The children love to listen to and play a variety of musical instruments, as well as dance and sing. Crafts are so much fun, and a big highlight of my day! The children are encouraged to learn through play; we like to learn new games, play sports, and go for walks to the park. I have always wanted to make a difference in people's lives, so I strive to make every day unique.

Be Prepared!

We love spending as much time as possible outside enjoying the fresh air and creative play with the little ones. This makes it extremely important that the children come prepared for the diverse Calgary weather! Please refer to the guidelines below when preparing to send them to our day home.

Wintertime

Whether it's a Chinook or a cold snap, please be sure to pack warm layers for your little ones. We like to play outside as often as we can, and don't want anyone to catch a chill or have to stay inside!
We ask that you pack snow pants, a hat, mittens, scarves, and an extra sweater. Stay warm out there!

Summertime

Please make sure you have packed light, breathable clothing for your child as we will be playing outside more often. We ask that you pack shorts, a skirt, or a dress; a hat, and light coloured tops. Scent-free sunscreen and bug spray are welcome to be sent along as well!

When It Rains

It can be lots of fun to play outside in the rain - so long as you don't get soaked through! So that we can enjoy outdoor play in rain or shine, please provide appropriate rain gear for your child. This includes a waterproof rain coat, rain pants, and rubber boots!

Thank you for helping us keep your children safe and comfortable through all the seasons!
